FyoozD Culture Inc.

Hello and Thank you for stopping by my blog. My name is Natassja, and I'm currently a fashion design student at IADT in Sacramento. I decided to start a blog so that I can share with you my own personal journey through the world of the fashion industry. But then I was thinking WAIT! there is another part of me that helped shape who I am today, and that's been the desire to want to help, bring unity with all people, and encouragement. So in my quest to finding a spot in the fashion industry, I also want to bring peace and love to everyone that visits. May you find something that feeds your fashion craving, and also something that feeds your mental hunger.

Icon FlashBack: Dorothy Dandridge

I remember growing up and being totally taken back by the beautiful Ms. Dorothy Dandridge. My grandparents are the ones that introduced me to her when I was in first grade. I remember seeing her face in the Essence magazine, and I remember keeping that page to hold onto so I could always look back and vision her still being alive.

WOW!! She was Gorgeous

Dorothy Dandridge was taken way before her time, her and Marlyn Monroe are two of my favorite women from the past. Its crazy because both of their life's kinda pattern themselves. Two amazingly beautiful women with so much inner tumor, and both left us way to early.

She is most famous for her role in Carmen Jones, in which she became the first African American women to ever be nominated for an Academy Award for best actress. Unfortunately she didn't win due to heavy racial issues back in those times (the movie was made in 1954). But to many people she had won, and because of her memorable role as Carmen Jones she will never be forgotten.

Fun for ONe: A guide to having fun with the most beautiful person in the world: YOU

With a million and one things going on in our life's, working or trying to find work, school, projects, networking, facebook, youtube, friends, and family it can be hard to even imagine having any time for yourself.

With the pressure of feeling like you have to be at every event, party, night out with the girls, hanging with your boo, and answering everyone's twit, email, update etc. We often feel bad that we want to just be with ourselves.

STOP RIGHT THERE

Because everyone of us deserves and need some me time. How could we grow, learn about ourselves, and tap into our deeper conscious with out taking ourselves on a little date every now and then. Now we take our boyfriend/girlfriend on dates to learn about them in different settings, we take our friends to new places to discover new treasures. So wouldn't it be just as cool to take yourself somewhere new and exciting, to try a new dish, to help at a shelter?

Well in a quest of learning more about myself I want to share with you some ideas that you can enjoy all by your beautiful self. Once a week I will give you a new gem to discover, and if you lovely ladies have any ideas, suggestions, thoughts, are what to share some of your fun with one please do

Some of my fun for one ideas are coming from this book:

But every lady deserves to have at least one dish that she would blow even her grandmother out of the water.

So why not pick up a few lessons and take a cooking class ( and no I'm not talking about from the food network).

For my locals:

They offer a wide variety of different types of cooking courses & a lot of them are very cost friendly

A great place that supports natural healthy living. They support organic family farms and small producers of high quality food.

Whole Foods Market
The culinary center offers a variety of cooking classes at affordable prices. Most classes are about $25-45 and they are well worth every Penny. They have different types of classes and informational sessions throughout the month.

For other ideas:
  • Check out bulletin boards at local bakeries, health food stores, and grocery stores for free or inexpensive classes

SO Sorry for the long DELAY...

To my readers I know you have probably been wondering what the heck happen to her!!! She came and she went so fast. I did go, but I was never gone forever. Besides the loads of projects and assignments I had last week for my finals, I really had to take a seat back and reevaluate what was my purpose of creating this blog. A little about me: I try to do a thousand things at once, in one day with everything having to be perfect.

I was all over the board with where I wanted to go, what I wanted to say, what I thought would be good for everyone, what I shouldn't do, and so on and so on. Until my mind just went blank from overload....

Like a computer my brain was saying system over load....
CRASHING!!!!

The one week that I have off from school I was so positive that I would just jump back into my blogging and everything would be great

WRONG!!!!

My brain froze and I didn't know where to start what and how to end. I was frustrated, impatient, and almost was ready to throw in the towel.

A very kind and gentle soul by the name of Belle from The Citizen Rosebud and I'm sure she didn't know, but her small comments of encouragement and random acts of kindness really put a smile on this young blogger's face. I just want to say THANK YOU BELLA for being such an awesome women<3 Your true self shines even through social networks that are bombarded with millions of people every day.
YOU ROCK!!!

Another thing that helped me to release this mental block was a book that I picked up from the library today Titled "Super Rich" by Russell Simmons
At first sight you think that this multi millionaire is talking about Super Rich as in material things, well that were he gets you..lol
Actually the book is the total opposite, being super rich has little to do with living in a penthouse or a mansion and everything to do with living in a state of consciousness where you are equally connected with the world and your higher self.

I KNOW I KNOW TOTALLY OFF FASHION

But the main thing that I took out of this book is that giving is the best thing that you could do while living on the earth. GIVING WITH WHAT YOU ARE TALENTED AND MOST PASSIONATE ABOUT

I discovered that it's okay if every single blog isn't about fashion. it's okay to share         insight with my readers, and its okay to be myself.

At first I was so pressured to have my blog all about fashion, fashion, fashion, and yes that is a major part of who I am, but yet there are so many other talents and gifts I have to share with the world.

So without pressuring myself I am now ready to blog from the <3
